Parking
We have received a communication from residents of our neighbouring street regarding parking problems now that we will start having functions in our new hall. The email states to quote ‘Your previous centre used to have a massive impact on spaces being available on the road, meaning that often residents, some with small children, had to park several streets away.’
As you all know parking is a challenge in the area. Over the years parking spaces are being limited. Match day parking restrictions mean literally, no parking is available on those event days. Parking problems are not limited to our area only. Everywhere, the general trend is against the use of cars to prevent pollution and for environmental sustainability. Let us take this challenge head-on and do the following as much as possible.
- Walk, ride a bike, or use public transport. We are well connected with buses and rail services.
- Where possible share your car with others.
- Be considerate to others when parking in the area.
- Ladies can travel by public transport where possible. Plenty of room is available for ladies to change into traditional dresses at the hall.
Hinduism places a strong emphasis on the importance of preserving the environment and living in harmony with others. Further ideas to alleviate the parking problem are welcome.
