We have sad news. A long-standing friend of Hindu Society and our dear friend Balraj Bali passed away suddenly on Tuesday at the age of 63, after doctors discovered a rare brain infection.
Balraj Bali was a close friend of our Trustee Balraj ji
Balraj ji remembers when he first met him 30 years ago. He says ‘I first met him at a conference. our friendship grew when I asked him for dinner which he said he couldn’t do as he was fasting. I brought him home where my mother performed prayers with him and served him ‘sada’ vegetarian food.’
Balraj Bali always nurtured himself with courage and conviction and wore his heart on his sleeve.
His love and commitment to his family, friends, and the Hindu Society were exemplary.
When we needed numbers for Hindi classes, for the classes to be viable, he used to bring his children all the way from Telford. He always showed a keen interest in our Society.
An educated and intelligent person, he was well aware of the world around him.
He educated his children Trishan to be a doctor and Priya to be a lawyer.
A decent family man who nursed his mother through illness and recently his wife to a complete recovery.
We are all numb and saddened by this tragedy. Each day will be difficult and different by his absence. We will miss him dearly. May God bless his soul.
