Ramayan is a wonder epic. Ramayan is the story about the life and times of Lord Rama and contains the teachings of Rama. Rama beautifully portrays the importance of family relations principles and that of how to conduct leadership and above all righteousness.

Hindu Society organised its annual Ramayan Akhand Path on 25th and 26th May. A large number of devotees recited the Ramayana. There was a festival like atmosphere and was well attended.

Hindu Society welcome all devotees. We were particularly delighted to see our Trustees Mr Anup ji and his wife Renu ji, Balraj ji and his wife Renu ji, and Rakesh ji. Hindi officer from the Indian High Commission Mr Tarun Kumar and his wife Poonam ji also graced the occasion with their presence.

Ramayan Path started with taking ‘Sankalp’, that is that the Path will be completed within 24 hours. Pandit Shivpuri Ji commenced the proceedings by offering Pooja.

Pandit Mukesh Sharma performed ‘Samarpan’ ceremony and was followed by Hanuman Chalisa.

Pritibhoj and Prasad was served throughout the Akhand Path duration and then after the pooja bhajan and aarti.

President thanked all volunteers, committee members, yajmans, the ladies who worked tirelessly in the kitchen, and the Ramayana readers. He noted that Ramayan readers were all ladies with one exception of that of our Trustee Rakesh Wadhwa Ji who recited during early hours of Sunday morning. The standard of recitation was of very high quality, and the president particularly enjoyed the soul touching recitation by Alka Gupta, Leela Maharaj, and Vinita Pandey.

The Mandir was beautifully decorated by our Trustee Anup Ji and our Vice President and Religious Coordinator Veena ji.

Night security was organised by Haresh ji.

Society thanks all for your generous donations. We particularly thank Mrs Urmil Butcher and Balraj Ji who donated £501 each on this occasion.

Jai Shri Ram
